The herbal garden was constructed and planted in spring 2015 and with the help of the local garden centre we were soon able to plant the herbs. Therefore herbs growing in our herbal garden are:  camomile, sage, mint, lavender, lemon balm, pot marigold,echinacea purpurea, thyme and rosemary.  In the early summer months we collected the first flowers of camomile and pot marigold and by september we had managed to collect and dry about 5 kilograms of each herb.The next step is producing herbal tea,herbal soap and cremes.

In Septmber 2014,the students visited the bio farm Plavica, which deals with herbs and Mr. Joze explained the healing effects of some of the herbs. At the end he showed us how to make a hebal creme and the students were happy to participate and mix the ingredients.

 

 

 

 

During the winter months,with freezing temperatures and loads of snow, the students participated in workshops to acquaint themselves with the proper procedures of how to make herbal soap and herbal lip balm. And of course, the homemade herbal tea was always welcome.
