Schools grouping Dr. Guilherme Correia de Carvalho is composed of three individual preschool units, two preschool and primary school units, one primary education, 2nd and 3rd cycle unit and one 2nd and 3rd cycle unit. These units are spread over a wide area.

It is a public institution addressed to a whole of about 1030 students, ranging from 3 to 15 years old. Besides regular education (from preschool to 9th grade) it also integrates a VET course, to prevent school absenteeism and dropping-out, a special unit for autistic children and integrated artistic education (Music).

It is located in an inner mountainous region, far from the big centres (300km away from Lisbon). The social context is disadvantaged due to the increasing unemployment and the fast decrease of population who move to the seaside and abroad in order to find a job.

In spite of this,  our organization has a good experience concerning educational projects and most of the students really enjoy participating in different activities.
