Onion is one of the earliest produced and consumed crops in Turkey and is used daily in cooking by all Turkish families year around.The turkish onion is called brown(red)onion.Onion cultivation differs in planting style whether you want to eat it green or leave it to get dry.If you want to eat onion green,you can plant it anytime but again it will be better in autumn or spring because rain lets it grow faster and better.When it comes to cultivation of green onion,they are generally planted in a circle and close to one another.Howver if you want them to get dry it can take 9 months toharvest.Dry onion needs bed planting and shouldn't be planted as frequent as the green onion.
